My last post showed you some photos of the compound in which I live from the outside. There actually is a huge 3 bedroom apartment on the ground floor currently unoccupied and two other smaller apartments as well as an outdoor very nice tile sink with his and hers bathrooms!! I am currently the sole occupant of the entire property. There is a handyman/gardener who takes care of lots of thing, like keeping me in drinking water and feeding the three cats who are here some of the time but not all of the time. I have maid service once a week and those nice seňoras also do all of my laundry for me.
My apartment is basically three rooms and a connecting hallway. The largest room is a combination kitchen, family room and living room which measures 13 X 15 feet. Along one wall are all of the kitchen appliances -stove, oven, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, tea kettle and toaster. That is my kitchen. In one corner is my office with my computer and the nice right angle desk that I bought. My TV is on the other wall but even though we went to the cable company office a week ago, so far no word on when it will get connected to the cable!! The bedroom is 7 X 9 feet and the bed is very comfortable! I was worried about the bathroom, that is the shower because it is deep and a tub shower but it turns out that it is very easy to get in and out of and there is plenty of hot water. You will notice on one wall a towel that my daughter Karen and her daughter Lucie gave to me to commemorate her college The University of Central Florida Knights!!
I included some photos of each of the three windows that I have which look out onto the greenery of the compound. I have lots of beautiful birds coming to roost and get seeds and things from the lovely plants in the park below me within the compound. When adding it up, it totals to only about 380 sq. ft. but it seems that I have everything that I need here within that space. San Miguel de Allende, in the colonial highlands of Mexico, home of the Mexican Independence movement from Spain and a wonderful place to visit and live. You should think about making a visit to this amazing town.
