Returning home after a long trip to Europe is always a little bit of missing the adventure and also a nice sense of being home again where all is comfortable like language, food, family, friends. I am lucky enough to live in one of the best places one could live in called Manhattan Beach, California. Next to San Diego we probably have the most livable climate anywhere and we have a beautiful beach with a pier to walk out on, surfers to watch, the Santa Monica Mountains to the North and Palos Verdes and Catalina Island to the south. It is normally not much above the mid-70s here for high daily temperatures although this last year we had extended stretches in the 90s which was very unusual and ? due to global warming, probably. Overnight in winter the temperature may get to the low 40s but usually it warms up to the high 50s to mid-60s or even the low 70s during the daytime. It is really quite a nice place to live so sometimes I wonder why I seem to always have wanderlust?? This month it will be Nicaragua including the towns of San Juan del Sur, Granada and Matagalpa so look for photos and descriptions. I am investigating Nicaragua as a possible retirement destination so I am excited to experience a new place, a new culture and see if it seems right for me. Stay tuned for details. If any of my readers have experience with Nicaragua I would love to hear from you. I only know one person with experience of Nicaragua and she love it so we will see. Obviously, the attached photo is not Nicaragua. It was taken during a meeting I had a few years ago with President Abraham Lincoln in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania at the National Battlefield Park. I was asking him about his famous Gettysburg Address!!
