One of the giants of the Abstract Expressionist School of modern art, Jackson Pollock (1912-1956) died at the age of 44 in an alcohol related auto accident.  This exhibit comprised of 50 works shows the breadth of Pollock’s artistry including, of course, the “drip paintings” for which he is perhaps best known but also other paintings as well as prints, engravings, screen prints, and lithographs.  MOMA has perhaps the paramount Pollock collection in the world and this exhibit provides an excellent overview of the variety of media employed by this amazing artist in his all too short career.
