Yesterday I completed a four day photography workshop in San Diego California.  The workshop was put on by Great Escape Publishing and included professional photographers from around the world such as

Hotel del Coronado

Mike Hagan, Shelly Perry, Daniel Nahabedian, Bonnie Caton, Kristin Bentz, Carli Davidson, Joe Sindorf, Tom Reissman, Lori Allen and Cheryl Bigman.  I took a one day add on before start of the full workshop to increase my ability with my new Fugifilm XT2 mirrorless camera.  Unlike a digital SLR there is no mirror to be “reflexed” up when the photo is taken so the mirrorless cameras are smaller and lighter than a full DSLR camera but they have all of the fancy features of the DSLR.  That add on gave me courage to shoot my photos in “RAW” mode and process them in Adobe Lightroom for the first time.  During the main workshop we the participants were sent out “on assignment” to capture images in the fabulously photogenic San Diego environment and then select our three best images to be critiqued by the instructors in small groups with our fellow participants.  I will attach a few of my favorites for your consideration.  They include scenes of one of my all time favorites, The Hotel Del Coronado on Coronado Island across the bay from San Diego, La Jolla Cove just North of San Diego and finally auto lights on California Freeway CA-8 since the automobile and freeways are synonymous with the California life style. Feel free to give me your feedback on your own assessment of my efforts.
